A Tradition Rekindled - NPCF Welcomes the Fourth Winter Solstice Concert

The Niagara Peninsula Conservation Foundation (NPCF) is pleased to announce the return of its Winter Solstice Concert, a cherished seasonal tradition now celebrating its fourth year on Thursday, Dec. 18. This enchanting musical evening features the inspiring voices and rhythms of WomEnchant Chorus & Drummers (WomEnchant) and welcomes guests to reflect, reconnect, and celebrate the turning of the season.

Set in the scenic Glen Elgin Room at Ball’s Falls Conservation Area, the event embraces the beauty of nature on the verge of winter. Guests are invited to bask in the warmth of music, community, and connection, and welcome the season of rest and renewal.

“As we gather for this year’s Winter Solstice Concert, we are reminded of the quiet power of renewal and the hope carried in a turning season. In the glow of music, community, and gratitude, we honour the beauty of the Niagara Peninsula watershed and the people who help protect it,” said Donna Cridland, NPCF Fundraising Committee Chair. “Thanks to our dedicated organizers and supporters, we not only celebrate winter’s arrival – we strengthen our roots of restoration, connection, and care that sustain the watershed for generations to come.”

Proceeds from the Winter Solstice Concert support vital restoration and education programs throughout the Niagara Peninsula watershed, helping to protect its natural legacy, now and for generations to come.

“At solstice, the sun appears to stand still on the southern horizon before the Earth begins its cycle through winter, forward to the renewal of spring.   In sisterhood and song, we honour this ancient cycle and rhythm.  It connects us to the planet and the wonder of natural processes. With every breath and every beat, we renew our promise to walk gently, give generously, and protect the land that has always carried us.” – Laura Thomas, WomEnchant Artistic Director
